This gave me the opportunity to question her about her collection, and this was my first choice to explore.This historical novel is set in the Scottish Highlands in 1684.It is the story of two sisters, Evelyn Worthington and her sister, Scarlet, who escape England, both running for personal reasons.This story delves into the complicated relationship of Evelyn and Greyson Campbell- Chief of the Campbells, as Evelyn is attempting to start a school in Finarig Castle. The castle was purchased by Evelyn's brother, after it was wrongly taken from the Campbells, that also involved the death of Greysons parents. Greyson Campbell is still in residence in the castle.The challenges presented to each character showed the strength and determination of each, ignited their passion not only toward their cause but towards each other.I am looking forward to the next addition in this series, A Rose Without Thorns - the story of Scarlet Worthington.

What an enjoyable read. I know I'm in for a real treat reading one of Heather McCollum's stories. I 'm so impressed with her dedication to spreading the word about ovarian cancer, as well as developing strong characters for her tales. Grey and Evelyn were delightful, as well as many of her secondary characters.Romance and Highlander's at their best.

I enjoyed the H/h and the secondary character's. I was disappointed we didn't learn more about the little girl. Maybe her story will continue in the h's stories.Some far fetched storylines that seemed wrapped up too quickly. Romance does build slowly. There is lovemaking outside of marriage, mildly described rated maybe 3 out of 5.We have some nasty villains and one is still at large, assuming he will wreck havic in the next story. We have no cheating, no cliffhanger for our couple, but some questions on secondary character's are not answered and we get HEA.I can't improve on the blurb so not going into it. (Ljb)

Another amazing story by Heather McCollum! Loved how engaging the story was, pulled me in from the first chapter! Can’t wait to read book 2!

It was full of twist and turns. I kept rooting for her until the very end of the book.

I really liked the descriptions of Scottish traditions and dress. Also, the strong, passionate feelings and chivalry of the highlander for his lady fair. It was interesting how the events towards the end of the story happened. It all came together in a way I didn't see coming. Excellent work!

Wonderfully strong heroine ! Great story that kept me turning the pages to find out how it was going to end!

Book Rebel doesn’t send a lot of deals for Historical Romance but when they do they don’t diss appoint. This story had good writing and characters. Felt realistic to the time and good descriptions but most important a good story.

This book is written in a way that really connects to the reader and provides and unbiased view and information about Judaism. I currently use it for a class I am taking and find that it simplifies terms and ideas that are often complex and difficult to understand for those learning. I like the out of the box examples and concepts that are laid out as it allows for connections to be made on many levels. This a great intro to Judaism read and a good addition to any library.

Rabbi Dosick has done a wonderful, detailed job of explaining the holy books, rituals, holidays, history of the Jews. I have a much better idea now of what Jews believe and why. I know where the major personalities fit into the cultural timeline. I have much more fellow-feeling for the Jews, thank you, Rabbi. I had wanted to better understand Christ, as a Jew - and I feel I do now.

What Author trying to capture readers, states within his first 20 pages, his ideas about gender neutral language, and how the men of the time of the old testament, used males pronouns, because it was God and in writing because they did not know any better? An author that has an agenda? He has some good points but its very difficult to give credibility to a piece of work, that starts from the beginning tearing down what he thinks is male dominated view point?

Rabbi Dosick has compiled a wonderful introduction to Judaism that provides a clear window for the outsider to peer into this historic, sometimes puzzling, world that is Judaism. Broken down into logical categories, the book is also indexed, so it can be used as an easy reference. Topics include descriptions of the various Jewish sects, Jewish holidays, the Holocaust, Jewish views of non-Jews, life after death, and discussions about all the major Jewish rituals. As three of the world's major religions trace their beginnings back to Abraham, this book should prove a help to most who are unfamiliar with their ties to Judaism.

In my mind and experience, no other translation and commentary on the Gita comes close to Paramahansa Yogananda's for clarity, depth, understanding and insight. Reading it -- along with his other major chef d'oeuvre, "The Second Coming of Christ" -- has convinced me to become a devotee and student of his teachings. The insights he offers to the Gita are often literally breath-taking and his writing style is so eminently understandable as to be useful by anyone with a modest education and a sincere desire to learn.This is indeed a true spiritual classic of major proportion!

Out of all the translations of the Bhagavad Gita that I've read, Paramahansa Yogananda's is the most beautiful and comprehensible. Not to mention his insightful commentary that goes along with it. This new ebook version from SRF is so lovely - colorful and aesthetic. I've had the print version for a while now and always enjoyed it, even just reading a page or two puts my mind in an uplifted state. And so naturally I'm happy to have this on my kindle for on-the-go perusal. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in striving to live a spiritual life in the modern world.

I happen to be its translator in my language. Not at all good. It is a compilation of the two-volume one, "God Talks With Arjuna - The Baghavad Gita, again from Self-Realization Fellowship. One who really wants to understand the Gita, extremely metaphorical, should buy the two-volume one, which is more than excellent, written from Paramahansa Yogananda, "The Father of Yoga in the West". Find it here in Amazon. The full meaning is there (the two-volume), a masterpiece.

A must read for anyone that isn't interested in reading the Bhagavad Gita superficially. Yogananda sets the stage for the Gita perfectly so that the reader is (more) mentally prepared to embark on the Gita journey.

But why stop there. Use the dyes to custom make a fabric scarf, or a fabric anything that needs a zip of color. Learn about which plants will produce a lasting dye and which ones are only a fleeting stain on the landscape of life. You can even use these dyes for water color paintings! So many beautiful thoughts are running through my minds as I get ready to make my first batch of dye. I am totally inspired and you will be, too.

Ms. McLaughin has written an easy to understand, witty book that will quell your fears about natural dying of fiber and fabrics. As a fiber spinner, I've always been apprehensive about dying with natural plant dyes, since the rovings that I can buy at fiber festivals are so colorful, without me doing anything to get them that way. After reading this book, though, I'm ready to plant flowers and forage for the wonderful colors that she presents. And her detailed descriptions of the processes are reassuring, both with their ease and the "let's see what comes out" attitude she possesses.

Beyond the basic aesthetics of a beautiful garden, I've always put mine to good use and reaped as much food and cut flowers as I possibly could. But Chris' book adds a whole new consideration: put all those colors to work and create natural, gorgeous dyes! I'd never even thought about this before! To anyone new to the art/science of dyeing, I'm sure that the process can seem a little overwhelming, but Chris, in her no-nonsense-cut-to-the-chase kind of way, manages to demystify it entirely. Combine that with a dash of sass and a whole boatload of beautiful images--this book is an absolute joy to read.No one's garden library is complete without A Garden to Dye For--I highly, highly recommend it.

I'm a beginner and found the book really helpful. Information was presented in logical, easy to digest succession. Easy to read, good graphics and author's humor and humanity made it all the more pleasant. It's my go- to book as a beginner. Thx, Chris!

The book was ok, but if you are looking for recipes this is not for you. The parts of the book that are actually useful can fit on about 5-8 pages. A-lot of needless "humor" or filler goes into this book without any real substance for me. If you are looking for recipes the book has none. So it is left up to you to figure it out which could be useful for someone. Overall, it is an ok 1 day reading book but for extracting more knowledge of how to natural dye not useful.

I don't often write reviews, but I wanted to leave one on this little book because I really enjoy it. It's small and easy to tote around, and covers all the common and easy to try plants. I'm not a professional, I just like to try out cheap and easy natural dyes with the small amount of fiber I have. I'm not even interested in getting into a bunch of details; for me, part of the fun is trying different things to see how they Change the colors. Chances are I won't do or want the same color every time. I loved the relaxed tone of this book, it's like I was talking with a friend! Most of the plants in here, I realize I can grow and/or try. I have several other books on natural dyeing and this one adds a new aspect to my library.

Thank you so much for this wonderful book. Your clearly written, step by step approach to the process is an inspiration to me.Using a mordant to aid in dyeing plant fibers has been a struggle in my work. I have been doing it wrong! I also now understand the use of iron as modifier NOT a mordant . I am off to mordant!

Clear, easy to understand for beginners. Can't wait to get started on my first project!

Whoever told this guy he was a market hunter has a different perspective than I do. This is a book about a common, every day, self-centered criminal poaching ducks long after the Depression was over. Stories about shooting ducks at night off the ice (after he got off work) and fighting landowners when he's caught trespassing are what you can expect. Trespassing and poaching are his specialty, not market hunting.

We spend a lot of time down in the area this book talks about! My teenage son couldn’t wait to read it and hear the stories from way back! He loved the book!

In my mind, any book on duck hunting and it's history is worth a read. That's basically as far as I can recommend this book.It's very short, even shorter with the large print and margins. I hoped the content of the book would justify the price. I read it cover-to-cover in two sittings; basically I just wanted to get through it rather than being drawn to it. I really wish I could say better because I'd like to see more history of the sport. But, this appears to be a book of yarns by Mr Lamm transcribed as the book and not well edited. It would be better suited as a series of magazine articles. I guess the description of the book led me to expect more than it delivered.

Awesome book. Great read for hunters and non hunters alike. Will read again.

Good book to learn about some of the history of duck hunting(the other side) and why our laws are the way they are.

Phenomenal. Just have to read it to understand.

This book shows more pictures of the author. If destroyed those pictures and replace more recipes will be better for the book. The recipes are just Ok. Is not what I am expected. The north people have poor taste than the South.

I love Helen's YouTube channel and am delighted that the book is written as approachably as her videos. I am a very mediocre cook, but following her instructions is simple, and I've gotten some pretty decent results.

Bought this for my daughter, she loves Pho. She prepared a tecipe that very week I gave it to her & she said it was well written, easy to follow& the recipe was delicious!
