As many others have said, if you have a 120 series car, buy this. If you have a p1800, look somewhere else. This covers almost nothing on the p1800 that I have seen aside from whatever is shared with the 120 series. Good book though.

If you're maintaining a vintage Volvo (and I suspect most folks looking at this aren't reading these for entertainment) you'll find that this is a very good addition to your library. In some ways it's even better than the model specific factory Volvo "green book" for the 1800.

GOOD REFERENCE

Comprehensive diagrams, Systematic troubleshooting, in depth repair guides. All of this and more can be found in this book. Add in the quality binding and the usability of the layout, and there's no reason not to make this your go-to vintage volvo repair guide

This provides nearly everything you could want in an enthusiast's manual. It is not the equivalent of a Volvo shop manual set, but it is very good. The graphics are very clear and complete.

This book is not a good book for the Volvo 1800 series. Sure, it has some mechanical and electrical information, but VERY LITTLE other than what overlaps the 120 and 130. It appears to me that Haynes added a few paragraphs (and I mean literally a few) just so they could put "plus P1800" on the cover.I was extremely disappointed in the lack of specific 1800 series diagrams and info.Definately would NOT make this purchase again.

I call this a "nice" read because Heather Lunde's style and stories made me feel good and relaxed and yes, happy. Her descriptions of people are not so much about quirkiness particularly, but more about the people who make up a unique town. I"m sure anyone could make up some of the same stuff about their neighborhood if they really thought about it. But she applies the venue of Haines, Alaska, to the people adding the survival challenges and the stories become more engaging. Her descriptions of life and death are sort of matter of fact, but somehow feel inclusive. I'm sure the town has plenty of darkness to it that she doesn't describe. It was a good book to read at night before bed or between appointments, easy to pick up and put down because it's not plot-driven.

"When someone you love dies senselessly, the line between grief and anger gets really blurry," wrote Heather Lende. She writes obituaries, talks to those who grieve, listens patiently to their stories, and shares humorous anecdotes. She also knows it will be dark at 2:00 p.m. and not daylight until 10:00 a.m. the next day, during the winter.Heather lives in Haines, small-town, Alaska. It would take more than a pry-bar, or a stick of dynamite, to make her change locations. "If you lived here, I'd know your name," she writes, with blunt veracity.Heather lives with eulachon (hooligan-grunion) runs, wild moose visitors, grounded mail delivery planes in the winter, and bedside church choirs.The only road leading out winds through Canada. Four hours to White Horse (in good weather), then Canadian customs and 120 miles to Haines Junction, in the Yukon Territory. I smile, recalling two times when we stopped in Dawson Creek on our road trips to Alaska. The Alaska Highway stretched ahead and we were fool hardy adventurous. 1500 miles of gravel could shred tires. Sixteen wheelers with friendly drivers going up the mountains became speed freaks without parasails, tires throwing gravel at windshields, coming down the other side.Heather has a bit of Heaven on Earth, and she is lucky enough to appreciate that fact, and share it. One chapter I particularly liked was devoted to her attempt at making her favourite egg salad sandwich from entirely home-grown ingredients against a multitude of interruptions:'This, finally, is how you make the perfect egg salad sandwich: boil two eggs,rise them in cold water, and peel them. Add some half-and-half, a pinch of salt, and ground pepper. Mash it all up with a fork and spread it on toasted sourdough bread...Lay on lettuce leaves, then a thick slice of tomato. Spread some mayonnaise on the other piece of toast and place it on top. Cut it diagonally; put it on a china plate, next to a cloth napkin next to a cup of hot tea. RUTH WARINER lives in Portland, Oregon. After Wariner left Colonia LeBaron, the polygamist Mormon colony where she grew up, she moved to California, where she raised her three youngest sisters. I hope that everyone that has experienced a troubled childhood will read this griping and inspiring memoir.I heard about The Sound of Gravel first on Twitter, when I Tweeted the author, and then later that day found out she is my cousin. Seriously. I was given an Advance Reader Copy and was riveted until I read the last page. Reading Ruth's story was so much like reading about my own life growing up in a violent, polygamist cult. My review is so personal because, even though our lives were separated by the heinous crime my father, Ervil LeBaron had committed against her father, Joel, in 1972, we survived the same type of neglect and deprivation, among other horrors.Ruth makes the shows, documentaries, news reports and other media you see on television about the fundamentalist Mormons come to life, even as you are wishing nobody ever had to experience such realities.Thank you, Ruth, for your vulnerability, bravery and courage. I applaud you!This is a photo of Ruth and I when we met for the very first time on December 3, 2015.

Ruth's story had me spellbound from the first page as I followed her every move, totally captivated by this awe inspiring memoir. When I finished the book my heart yearned to know what happened next? It just ended too soon. My heart has been touched in a way a book or story seldom has. Her courage, strength and determination saved lives and it is my humble belief that her story will continue to impact and inspire others to do the right thing.

I can't believe this is Ruth Wariner's first book. I just can't believe she's a first-time author. Her use of language to convey this gut-wrenchingly stark story is absolutely masterful. As a non-fiction lover I've read quite a few memoirs and I can think of none so captivating and utterly gripping as this one.I was given an advance reading copy. I tried not to have expectations one way or the other when I started the book. When I finished the book later that same day, what little expectations I had were far, far exceeded. I look forward to the release date in January so I can re-read.I hope she writes a sequel that picks up where she left off!

(NOTE: Review based on Advance Reader's Copy) Ruth's memoir of growing up in a polygamist community and her eventual escape from it is one of those books you will not be able to put down until you finish.The truth is, as part of team who read ARC's I saw other readers talk about how they stayed up late to finish or read it all in one day and I thought it must be hyperbole. Then I got the book myself, started it, and promptly text my boss that I was going to need the next day off so I could finish it (she didn't agree).Ruth is a baby when her father is murdered and her mom remarries Lane, a man who neglects and abuses his families. Ruth's family lives in an unfinished home that she describes as smelling like mouse droppings, having no indoor bathroom, or electricity. In this home, her mother raises her children - there are eventually 10 children, three with special needs - with minimal support from her husband, welfare that she crosses the border from Mexico to the US to get, and her own willpower.Her mom is a true believer in the polygamist life and the rules/theology of their particular community. In this, she is both sympathetic and infuriating. I found myself wanting to shake her and "make" her protect her children and stand up for herself.Ruth's story is rough - there is neglect and abuse, loss and fear. She writes with great love and compassion about her siblings, mom, and grandparents. Even when her mother fails her repeatedly, Ruth acknowledges the failure without bitterness or trying to reason away her mom's action or inaction. She had done a wonderful job with her family's story; this book is well worth your time.

This story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. Ruth Wariner has done an excellent job of taking the reader into the polygamist group she grew up in, and allowed us to follow along on her intense personal journey of escape. I could not put this book down and recommend it highly. Beautifully done.

It is hard to describe the feelings, the memories, horror, embarrassment and anger this INCREDIBLE, beautifully written book filled me with. Memories because I was there, on the sidelines of Ruth's account this polygamist group.I knew Ruthie as a young child. I knew her birth father, her step-father, her mother... I knew them well enough to bear witness to the raw truthfulness of Ruth's account. I'm shaking inside with such anger at what she and her siblings were forced to live through! Horror and disgust brought me to tears at Lane's enormous, despicable part in her abuse, and at her mother's spineless blindness. I cringe remembering that my own life so closely paralleled hers... and her mother's... for most of my younger life.I'm beyond thankful Ruthie had the strength and the grit to stand up for herself and her siblings! And, oh, I'm so happy she is free and strong and has become a brave, truthful voice of the horrors all too often hidden inside the ugly belly of Joseph Smith's polygamy. This book deserves 10 stars and a top place on the Best Seller list.

I could not put this book down! Ruth shares her story of her escape from a polygamist cult. She overcame the unimaginable, as she faught for herself and her siblings. I shed tears for her pain. You will not regret this purchase.

I am finding it hard to find things to read that hold my daughter's interest. She will pick this book up, peruse a couple of topics and then gladly follow up with research on the internet!

As a parent and future educator, I am always looking for a way to pique the interest of children. Every Day on Earth by Steve Murrie and Matthew Murrie (father and son) is a great book to share interesting facts with children through reading short paragraphs. I could not ask for anything else. Did it work to grab the attention of my 11 year-old son?Yes, it did. I read some of the fun facts out loud to the entire family while we were driving and he enjoyed it so much he did not want me to stop. I think the shocker was when he asked if he could read it after I was done. He is my non-reader. I do not know if it had to do with the fact that I was reading the section on space and technology, but whatever it was got his attention enough to want to know about some other things regular every day people would not know unless they had a reason to find out. For instance, "an astronaut on the International Space Station" sneezes 100 times a day. The reason is explained in the paragraph. Another one would be about the 8,000 taste buds each having "about 100 taste receptor cells." I was told years ago that certain parts of the tongue taste one of the four basic tastes, not so much.There are so many other interesting fun facts throughout the entire book. There is not only reading going on, but also math literacy. Math conversions are found on just about every page. An example of that would be the "2 quarts (1.89 liters) of" hydrochloric acid the stomach produces every day. You get science, math, reading, social studies and much more from this book. Even though some of the information is no longer current since this book’s publication in 2011, it was still an entertaining look into some of the amazing things that happen around the world everyday. No matter what your interest there will be something every reader will find engaging in the various topic sections of: living things, earth, food, the human body, pop culture, space, technology and sports.

This book is a really fun way to learn about what happens on the earth every day. The trivia facts are a mix of science, history, social studies, and math. It's a great book for long car rides. I put it in the side pocket of my car door and every time I'm on a trip with someone, we play a guessing game with it. "How many turkeys do you think are eaten on Thanksgiving Day..." It's a great way to pass the hours and to learn something new!

If I hadn't picked up this book, I probably would never know that the average human produces between 1 and 3 pints of saliva every day! This is the kind of interesting (and sometimes gross) information that kids (and adults) find fascinating, and Every Day on Earth is filled with hundreds of these factoids. This is the second in a series of books, and I have used the first book, Every Minute on Earth, as a great class-starter and conversation-starter in my middle school classroom. This new book will be just as useful as an instant way to get eager students' attention. I also know that students with a somewhat shorter attention span will pick up this book because it gives them fascinating, short bits of information in easy-to-digest, bite size bits.

As a middle school assistant principal, we are always looking for ways to promote literacy and encourage students to read. Just like their first book, "Every Minute on Earth", this book will really appeal to middle schoolers, especially those who are "reluctant" to pick up a book and just read for pleasure. With each page a new adventure, students will not want to put it down. And don't be surprised if they then want to talk to you about the new information they've learned. Whether it's how much information the Hubble telescope sends back to earth each day or how many miles a day a great white shark travels or how many apps are downloaded each day, kids will just have to share these new gems with you. By the way, if they are in your area, you can sometimes get authors Steve or Matt Murrie to come to your school to do a "book signing" or to talk about the process of writing a book. They did a great job when they came to our school. If you can ever get your kids to put this book down, you'll like it too! A fun read for everyone.

This book is perfect for everyone from reluctant readers to avid readers, and from 7 year olds to 70 year olds. The entries are just long enough to provide fascinating facts about daily happenings on Earth that we take for granted, and short enough to hold the interest of anyone who reads them. The colorful illustrations draw attention and add to the fun. It is a great book for car trips, waiting rooms, bedtime, or the bathroom.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this book. All I can say is "Wow!" The authors have done a fantastic job breaking down fun facts in a variety of categories that will appeal to all ages. I especially like the detailed information included with each fact, along with demonstrations you can do with your kids. Great book for teachers as well. Will definitely appeal to students in the classroom.

All of the pages are cut off and don’t display properly on Kindle on iPad. On many pages what the text refers to isn’t visible on the screen. Other Little Einsteins books I have display fine.

Nice and short. Perfect for my little one. We have seen the episode and its a great summary. My little one enjoyed the pictures too.

No pictures for the clues! Come on! Wasted money....so it goes. Won't buy another one of these. Kids were not impressed.

It's OK but I hoped there would be more about Ireland in the story. It focused mainly on the Leprechaun. Many other Little Einsteins books discuss a broader range of topics in the country the Little Einsteins visit.

The little Einsteins visit Ireland because June has a big step dancing festival in Ireland. Rocket gets a message that a harp is missing some strings and needs the little Einsteins, so before they go to Ireland they need to check out some information on leprechauns from the library. help so off they go to Ireland.This book features many Irish items like a Irish competition dress, Ghillies ( Irish dancing soft toe shoes),leprechaun, clovers, a pot of gold, claddagh ring, a bodhran ( Irish drum),Irish harp, Kilkenny Castle and 2 limerick riddles. There are also simple explanations of leprechauns, 4 leaf lucky clovers, and a Claddagh ring.This book includes 25 stickers for your child to use and would be a big hit with little Einstein fans or any child who is in Irish dancing class. This book gives a little information on Ireland but is not a St. Patrick's day book.
