This map is both too detailed to the point that the writing is so small an squeezed together that it is illegible and not detailed enough to the point that it is not helpful in figuring out road intersections and routs. The map is also on a very, very large folded piece of paper and so opening it in the car is impossible. Why one side of the map is blank is astonishing since it would be much more practical to put half the map on one side and the other half on the backside. The map is good as an overview of Switzerland, to see the major routes and cantons but I cannot use it as a map for driving. As to the inserts for the major cities, those too are only helpful in a general way but not helpful for actual directions and to track exits and smaller roads. The bottom line is that you cannot rely on this map as a tool for getting you around the country.

Great planning road map. We are planning on driving while in Switzerland and the map is very detailed and easy to use.

Was looking for some detail regarding train hubs and routes between major cities and City center detail for 2 - 3 cities. Got some of that.

Very good map, quite detailed but I think the Hallwag maps are better, more detailed and the map itself is easier to physically handle

I have not found a map of Switzerland better than this one. Some place names have been left out - probably because of the challenge of getting all onto one sheet. Indicates some geographical information as well as roads and funiculars, etc. It will guide us in October when we visit Switzerland.

In this book, Liu makes a persuasive argument that knowledge workers can resist the dominant postcapitalist business ideology from the inside by developing an "ethos of the unknown." The argument is dense, both philosophically and historically, but the book provides one of the best summaries available of the development of knowledge work and its relation to "cool."This survey is framed by a larger argument, however, which seeks to establish a place for the arts and humanities in the information age. Liu argues that together they can establish a historically grounded aesthetic sense to serve as a counterweight to the capitalist drive for innovation at any cost that ignores the past and its human costs.

Repetitive, vague, and more style than substance. I had to read this as part of my PhD in literature, so perhaps I more bitter than it warrants. Still, I've read a lot of new media crit., I did not find it stimulating or useful.

Full of striking observations but ultimately too disorganized and inconclusive to do justice to the question of the place of humanistic knowledge in a culture of knowledge that is "cool," technical, and purposive.

This is such a powerful story that really reaches into one's heart and shows you things that need to be made clear. I have read the Bible almost daily for over 40 years, and although I have memorized a lot of it, some parts have always eluded me with their archaic and symbolic wording and anachronistic references. But reading this book has brought many of my favorite scripture passages into a new light and a new form of understanding. Things that made only a glimmer of sense before are now very clear. I thank Mr. Rubart for that... nice job!As to the writing, I found the conversations natural, the descriptions enough to get a picture but not so much to drone on and on, and the spelling and grammar were spot on. I don't recall seeing any editing mistakes or those dreadful "spell check" errors one tends to see in digital books. His writing style is tight and keeps you running at a good pace - not so slow you lose interest, nor so fast you feel like you're going to miss something important or like he's trying to rush you to a conclusion.I very highly recommend this book not only to Christians but to anyone who enjoys a good mystery and "paranormal" read.

I almost never give a 5 star review. Every book seems to be lacking something to make it the top. This book gets a rousing 5 star review. Someone wrote if Peretti wrote the shack it would be this book. I love peretti and I really enjoyed the twists of the shack but this book is far better. Imagine, someone loves you enough to build you a mansion really, and knows you well enough that it suits you perfectly and has your memories in it, then imagine the person is long dead and you can't even remember him. He also seems to know your every thought and move. Hmm... what would you give up for that? Mysterious doors appear? Mysterious strangers? Odd unexplainable happenings. Oh yes, this book causes you to think of Gods love and what he wants to give us, if we'll only allow Him to take charge. I truly had a hard time putting it down and stayed up late too many nights reading it. Will look for more from this author but he has set the bar pretty high for himself! By the way, I forgot to mention it isn't a horror book. Thriller yes, suspenseful yes, but not scary or horror.

His decisions have tremendous effects and seeing these unfold are what makes this book a real page turner.My hesitation with this is the theological aspects. Micah gets a lot of spiritual advice here. Eventually as a reader you recognize that the advice conflicts. Some of it is from God, some from Satan. My concern is with the authoritative way both perspectives are presented - this could lead to some reader confusion. Of course the intention here is good - people are pointed to Jesus and the Bible eventually very clearly. And with-holding clarity at the start does make the book more intriguing for the reader. Perhaps my main issue is I don’t believe God could or would work like this.However, this is a very interesting story and I can see people reading this that otherwise wouldn’t read Christian fiction. I just hope they read to the end.

I know this is a Christian but it would be helpful to anyone. It reminded me of Larry Crabbs’ book “Inside Out”. It helps you look into your subconscious and take a serious look into your “Self” side and Gods side and the issues they cost. In this case it cost the main character a dream situation. It also reminds me of the Bible verse about seek and you will find. The doors to the “Rooms” show me that that verse can work both ways. You can open a door to your self will or one to Gods will.Reading the book, I lost track of time. It is so well written and so smooth that I finished the book in 4 hours. Only other book that I can say that I read in that amount of time was “This Present Darkness”.Even if you do not believe in God but you want to see how the mind can work you should read this. I want to read this again because I know I missed some areas. I want to read other books by James Rubart.

"Managing Enterprise Content" does not discuss ECM in broad terms, such as structured and unstructured content, email, scanned documents, OCR, ICR, etc. Instead, it focuses on content reuse. To take a simple example, a product brochure, a website, and a press release all include descriptions of a product. Why, the book argues, rewrite that description three separate times for each medium? Why not write it just once, store it in a content management system, and then reuse it over and over again? "Content Modularization" or "Content Reuse" probably describe the goals of this book less confusingly than "Managing Enterprise Content." But, in fairness to the authors, the current title isn't inaccurate, it just lends itself easily to misunderstanding. To reiterate: those looking for a course in Enterprise Content Management conforming to the Association for Information and Image Management's (AIIM) guidelines should look elsewhere.Nonetheless, those looking for a strategy to manage distributable content throughout an organization should take a look at "Managing Enterprise Content." The focus remains on implementing a "unified content strategy," which translates essentially to an efficient reuse of content. Here the word "content" has a specific sense relating to verbiage authored for a specific use. Product descriptions, mission and vision statements, disclaimers, compliance and regulatory announcements, anything widely distributable qualifies. How does one efficiently manage the creation and the evolution of such content across an organization? This obviously implies some form of centralization (although this pregnant term gets strategically avoided for obvious reasons). And this further implies a software system. But prior to purchasing an expensive application, the business must align itself process-wise to enable content reuse. Otherwise the costly program will sit and rot. The first three parts of the book (I - III), comprising its first twelve chapters, discuss these necessary preparations and walk the reader through to implementation. This progression mirrors, for good reasons, the project management and software development life cycle processes. First, determine the concept or the "why?" of the project (Chapters 1 & 2). Arnold Robbins, an Atlanta native, is a professional programmer and technical author. He has worked with Unix systems since 1980, when he was introduced to a PDP-11 running a version of Sixth Edition Unix. I feel cheated by buying this book. And who cares? It cost less than $9. BUT I have four other O Reilly Pocket Reference books and I concluded they are a great value especially since they are all priced around $8-11 each. All of them over 100 pages long and some close to 200 pages and packed full of very concise, organized information. For something around $10 per pocket reference and the amount of content per book - I concluded they are a GREAT value. THAT IS until I bought this "Sed and Awk: Pocket Reference" . I have developed the feeling that it can be faster to just grab a pocket reference and look it up - much like using a dictionary. Especially if you don't remember the exact command - thumbing thru one of these pocket references can be faster and more efficient then a web search. It can save time sorting thru a Google search or have pops up harassing you to join a forum. But you need some info in your pocket reference and since this thing is a total length of 46 pages there is not much here. And the Awk coverage begins on page 18 - so you get (46-18) or 28 pages of Awk. And after the 'regex' boiler plate info in the beginning of this book - about a dozen pages of Sed info. Since I have used Awk intensely on occasion - I feel there is a lot more to Awk then 28 pages. But I don't use Awk frequently enough to master it - so I really wanted a quick Awk and Sed reference. And this book is not that.It is strange since I have Arnold Robbins Bash Pocket Reference and it is not bad at over 100 pages and I find it organized and useful. I use it for the occasional shell script. But I think Robbins is taking advantage of the good reputation of these other pocket references. I think it is important to note that he has written a 456 page "Effective Awk Programming" book for around $40 on Amazon. It is almost like Robbins is saying - "you want some reference on Awk? - then buy my $40 book otherwise here is a teaser book with a few pages on Sed and Awk". It seems very little effort was exerted in writing this "Sed and Awk" Pocket Reference. Since I was so happy with my other pocket references - I had high expectations and did not bother to read the product description that this 'book' is less than 50 pages. It is about 1/8 inch or 4mm thick - it is more like a pamphlet. So, I can't recommend this book.

This is a nifty little reference book that I'm using now that I've brew installed like the real versions of these commands. I know there's a man page and what have you, but my eyes feel like they're going to bleed after a long day... it's nice to save them hell, and actually dog ear/underline the useful bits for things I use a bunch.Besides, it's not a bad idea to indicate to the people around you that you grok the command line or are at least trying to learn. If older folks run the shop, you get street cred or a pat on the head. If younger folks do... they might ask you over to their desk to help with a personal program they'd never be able to hack together, despite being like python ninjas or whatever.

Awk though is a command that most Linux admins overlook, misuse, or just use poorly. This pocket reference may not do a lot to change that, but it will help when you when you can't remember exactly what a switch or option does. And while much of what is in this book can be found online too, sometimes it is still easier to just pick up a book than try to find that one bookmark or google for the right term. It's adequate for this purpose, however, I wish I would have just gone right to buying "Effective Awk Programming" by O'Reilly, which I did a few weeks later, because I really was wanting something more in depth.

Normally, I ask Google for instructions in how to use the sed and awk commands. However, I once found myself without internet and I lost a whole day trying to figure out the right syntax of sed. With this book in my backpak this will never happen again.If you need a complete description of the commands, with examples and explanations, please consider buying the "non pocket" version, since this is only a fast reference, much like having a "man sed" in your pocket (it really is *tiny*).

This is an essential, can't-live-without-it reference for any Linux professional or serious hobbyist. It's also a soup-to-nuts technical manual.I didn't know I could do what I now do every day using sed, and I haven't even started on awk yet.If you use Linux for any kind of list or input processing, you need this book. Trust me.

I have hard copies of this book but thought the kindle version would be a handy solution to the prob of having to not need the book often but when I do... and it has been.

While Google and manpages are great, there's no replacement for reference guides like these and the aforementioned are not exactly "readily available" when you're sitting in a datacenter with a downed non-virtual server. If you are a Linux/FreeBSD/AIX/MacOSX Admin and want an edge on really making life easier for yourself, then you need to be able to have a good series of references to do such. You cannot know everything after all and every little bit of code snippet or reference set helps tremendously.Sed & Awk Pocket Reference is just one of those necessities that one should have for such a job as it really will help you become proficient and may even help you get out of a situation a bit faster. I have gone through 2 of these references personally and use it for everything from troubleshooting to automated cronjobs. My only complaint with this 2nd Edition is that it doesn't have as many examples as I'd like, requiring one to fiddle around with switch & option syntax a few times to get right. Otherwise, it's a gem in doing my job. Get it!

My kids know more awk & sed; no practice examples of how to use them. Pure corporate cash grab. This "pocket reference" is an insult to humanity. Obviously I didn't review the book before purchasing.
